Situated on Rathdowne Street, possibly the most beautiful street in Carlton, the Blue Truffle is so much more than a steak and seafood house. Combining flavours from Europe, Asia and Australia, the Blue Truffle is able to create dishes with a unique flare, thus enhancing the base ingredients. Relax in Blue Truffle's warm ambience with its no-fuss, understated dining area, or private room upstairs, with friends, colleagues, family, or simply by yourself. Whatever the occasion or non-occasion, if it's tempting steak and seafood you're after, Blue Truffle fits the bill. Start with an entree of South Australian oysters, served natural with lime and chilli dressing or baked with smoked salmon, capers and vintage cheddar. Follow with a selection of Australian beef steaks, such as the 100% Angus porterhouse or Victorian pasture-fed eye fillet, served with seasonal vegetables and a choice of sauces including pink peppercorn. The baked lean kangaroo loin fillet rolled in cumin and fennel seeds, served with wilted greens and lemon myrtle sauce is another nice choice. Room permitting, finish with one of Blue Truffle's many recommended homemade puddings, ice-creams or sorbets. The concise Australian-friendly wine list offers nearly all by the glass, with BYO available for wine only.

Marilyn Bowler: Blue Truffle was an ideal place for our celebration dinner. The food was excellent, the staff welcoming and helpful, and the table setting elegant. The calamari was the most tender that we've ever had; the steaks were cooked exactly as every one requested; and the fusion of cooking styles produced tasty and original dishes without being way-out.
