Sitting on the corner of Carlisle Street, one of Melbourne's busiest and most rewarding coffee strips, and Westbury, Argy Bargy is a real find. Alas it's probably just a teensy bit too far out of the street's epic footfall to be quite as busy as it deserves, but this doesn't prevent a boisterous helping of young trendies calling it their regular.
It's all kooky charm and pop art adorning the walls of this kooky little spot, with 80s legends like ALF the alien making cameo appearances. While it's funky cool, there are no pretensions here; it's pretty down to earth, with big, squishy sofas and long neck beers. A big glass frontage and street tables allows for people watching fun.
What really sells the joint are the fantastically cheap and tasty pizzas. Coming in a variety of provocative names, the make you chuckle every bit as much as rub your contented little belly. The Dirty Sanchez is spicy yum with salsa, Edam and guacamole and chilli beans while the Wog's all salami, mozzarella, olives and fetta. Aiming at a younger crowd, lunches are cheap and cheerful at $8 every day.
There's Tuesday night trivia for the more intellectual drinker, and $10 jugs that night for those with more low brow priorities. The weekends bring in tip top DJs and the staff are just as sexy as the crowd. This place has bags of character, all it need is more patrons and it'll be firing on all cylinders. And it certainly deserves to do so.

I went to argy bargy on saturday night and it was heaps of fun! They have a dj there on saturdays, it was just heaps of 80's & 90's plus a bit of hip hop and funk, my girlfriends and i had a blast. Haven't tried the pizzas but they look tasty, would reccomend it

Small in size, Large in entertainment... Trivia on tuesday nights is a must, with all the standard questions, some skulling, and stripping! Always a blast, and who can resist $10 jugs? ps, dont come to trivia i want to win...
