What with he demise of the Market and Exchange hotels, you could be forgiven for thinking Commercial Road's gay scene was dead in the water. Well, rumours of its demise have been greatly exaggerated it seems, as Heaven's Door remains steadfastly pumping at the weekend with a glittery array of drag queens, Gaga-glam young twinks and their admirers. A great little courtyard out back complete with projection screen means the smokers are entertained, while upstairs has a quieter spot to relax in. It's friendly and always full of upbeat, cheery tunes. It 'aint over till the fat drag queen sings.
