Baraki Upo Mezethes
Editorial
The Greeks do a lot of things well. Let’s face it, we owe them a lot. There’s the food, the arts, and civilisation, to name a few, but what about booze?
Unfortunately, for many of us non-Greeks our first introduction to ouzo probably wasn’t that great. It was probably mixed with coke or raspberry and you probably drank too much of it and then swore off aniseed flavoured alcohol forever. Likewise with Retsina, a bad one can make menthylated spirits seem like a milder choice. However, at Baraki Upo Mezethes they have ouzo’s that will make not only change your mind about this famous Greek tipple, but you will find yourself seeking out a good ouzo in the future.
Baraki Upo Mezethes is not lacking in the religious iconography area either. One wall features such a range of icons that it is almost a shrine. Don’t be put off though, sinners are welcomed here and a good time is absolutely mandatory.
The limestone walls and wooden tables and chairs add to the Mediterranean charm and the more modern touches give the place a stylish and warm feel.
To make the most of Baraki Upo Mezethes order up some food and indulge in the well made cocktails.
Live music adds to the revelry of Baraki Upo Mezethes and an all round relaxed vibe makes for a more than enjoyable night out.
