Editorial Review
Say what you want about Shannon Noll, but he's managed to put Australian Idol behind him and emerge as a hugely popular singer in his own right. Since coming second in the inaugural TV series (way back in 2003), he's released two platinum-selling albums, three number one singles and undertaken numerous sold out tours. To date he's the most successful of all the Idol contestants and doesn't look like slowing down anytime soon.
The fans are certainly still there. Four years since he was part of Australian Idol the public eagerly scooped up his third album, 2007's Turn It Up. Recorded largely in the US, the album features the songwriting talents of former Bon Jovi and Aerosmith collaborators. Perhaps most impressively, the album features more input from Noll than any of his previous releases. He co-wrote nine of the 13 tracks and it's an area he's grown increasingly comfortable with in recent years.
Still, live and on stage is where Noll is at his best. He'll have plenty of opportunity to showcase those talents on the road as he travels up and down the country promoting the latest single, Everybody Needs a Little Help.
