Editorial Review
Depending on your age, you'll either know Ian Moss as the guitarist from Cold Chisel or for his solo hit, Tucker's Daughter. Whichever it is, there's no denying the impact he's had on the local music industry and the longevity of his career. A large part of that comes from his ability to continually reinvent his sound. Four decades into his music career, Moss's latest album finds him channelling US soul legends like Sam Cooke, Al Green and Otis Redding. Recorded in Nashville, Never Say Never is just the latest instalment in a long and illustrious career.
Joining Moss on the accompany tour is ARIA Award-winning singer Wendy Mathews. Although she's best known for crossover hits like The Day You Went Away and If Only I Could, she's dabbled in all kinds of genres and styles over the years. Following her appearance on season three of It Takes Two, Mathews has just completed work on her first independent album, She. She describes it as "songs that have made the singer; women who have made the woman".
It might seem like a slightly odd pairing, but Moss and Mathews are a surprisingly likeable double act.
