Boyz II Men are the most successful R&B vocal group of all time. To date, they've sold somewhere in the vicinity of 80 million records and performed just about anywhere you might care to mention. The group burst onto the scene in 1991 with their debut album, Cooleyhighharmony. Led by the New Jack Swing influenced MoTown Philly, the album would go on to sell over nine million copies in the US. The follow up album, II, would prove even more successful, shifting a massive 12 million copies in the US.

All up, the group enjoyed five number one hits between ‘92 and ‘97. If you still know all the words to tracks like End of the Road, I'll Make Love To You and One Sweet Day it's because they all broke the record for time spent at the top of the charts. One Sweet Day (with Mariah Carey) was up there for 13 weeks - a quarter of the year.

While things have been quieter on the Boyz II Men front since the turn of the millennium, the remaining three members have been just as prolific in the album and touring stakes. Between their independent releases and signing with a new record label, the group has released four albums in the past six years and toured the world extensively. They have a new album, their 10th, due in 2008 and that seems as good a reason as any to return to Australia. Expect powerhouse R&B vocals and lighters in the air when they take to the stage.
