Editorial Review
Mosq is the third Moroccan-themed bar to be opened by the same proprietor, and it shows. Although Mosq only opened recently, the interior is spectacular, the bar staff know their drinks and the entire venue gleams. Mosq takes its interior design and Moroccan theme seriously - the inside is all treated-white walls, arched hallways, wrought iron furniture plush with cushions, high ceilings and hanging lanterns. For lack of better description, it's like something straight out of Arabian Nights. What makes Mosq unique among other bars in the area is that it's closed to the public on weekends - Mosq has a private functions only policy on Friday and Saturday nights. It seems to be working, as they currently have bookings spread out to Christmas.
Mondays to Thursday are open to the general public, offering Moroccan tapas and a bar offering a wealth of cocktails for the discerning drinker. The house speciality is a Blueberry Lychee Martini; a delicious mix of fresh blueberries, lychee, vanilla vodka and Chambord. The wrap-around bar means you can order your cocktails either inside or from the comfort of the outdoor (smoking) deck.
Mosq also offer communal Shishe pipes - like the caterpillar smokes in Alice in Wonderland; join some friends in smoking through either apple or mint flavoured tobacco. Beautifully decorated and reasonably priced, this bar offers a welcome addition to the Chapel Street bar scene - a bar for people who know a good cocktail when they try one.
