The Quiet Man Irish Pub
Editorial Review
There are few better Irish pubs to have as your local than The Quiet Man. It quite simply is one of the best put-together pubs you could hope to enjoy, if only in terms of its elegant simplicity. It also has the distinction of feeling more like an actual Irish pub than many other venues claiming the same virtue, with its ol' timey feel and a genuinely ??drank in' feeling that permeates the building, without, you know, the usual accompanying smell.
Tucked away in Flemington at the end of a beautiful tree-lined street, The Quiet Man has a dedicated front bar area and an almost entirely separate dining area, but totes a menu that can be ordered from in both. More so than most other traditional Irish pubs, it's food feels genuinely Irish, and with the menu changing constantly it's nice to know that they're forever trying to better a menu that is already easily one of the best in the area.
Even with the delicious food on offer, The Quiet Man also excels as a party venue, with a raft of live entertainment who apparently don't mind when you scream ?play Wonderwall' at them. The bar gets increasingly busy late into the night on a Friday and Saturday, and you'll be sorely tempted not to leave. Their drink selection - boldly showing off a huge collection of tap and bottled beers, and a sublime wine list - and mild Irish furnishing make it comfortable and enticing in the extreme. With a charming beer garden and sidewalk seating, it also makes for a great afternoon/evening destination. Whereas in winter, their fireplaces make it the only place you want to be.
A winning combination of old world charm and simple, home spun decentness, The Quiet Man will quickly become a loud favourite.
