Aqua E Vino is the quintessential Melbourne bar. In other words, it looks like something you might find down a European side street. Hidden away behind a small doorway and narrow staircase, it's one of the most charming bars you'll find in the inner west. Navigate the rickety stairs and you'll emerge in a former ballroom, now filled with an antique shop's worth of chesterfields, French armchairs, old lamps and sturdy wooden tables. All of this is complimented with an open fireplace, wrought iron chandeliers and huge bay windows.

Although it looks lovely inside, there's more to Aqua E Vino then just good looks and understated charm. The drinks menu is one of the most extensive you'll find in Melbourne, and the full list comes in a bound folder the size of serious novel. Whether you're after wines, cocktails, beers or spirits, the selection is phenomenal. Indeed, there's an entire corner of the bar dedicated to the venue's numerous industry awards and nominations.

Despite all this awesomeness, Aqua E Vino maintains a relaxed and unpretentious vibe. You can even take your parents (who are in town on holidays) there on a Friday night and not feel weird and awkward around all the couples, girls out on the town and men ?catching up'.
