Editorial Review

Lucky Coq, sister venue to Bimbo Deluxe, sure knows how to please. There are few venues that can boast such a wide range of reasons to never want to leave than this Prahran favourite, what with its superb selection of inspiringly cool tap beers, micro-brewed bottled beers, range of incredibly cheap organic based gourmet pizzas and nightly DJs; it's near perfect. Lucky Coq's hubbub and chilled out ambience make it the ideal bar to grab a beer, settle onto a well-worn, comfy couch (read: don't think about the buttocks which have been here before you) with some friends and order a couple of their delectable treats.

Boasting a stunning outdoor rooftop courtyard - as well as another level full of lounges upstairs - Lucky Coq is an ideal summer retreat. With Melbourne's finest DJs spinning tunes till uber-late (they're licensed till 3am) every night in amongst the eclectically bedecked,
bizarro-retro wallpaper and furniture, Lucky Coq screams originality and character, and never disappoints. You'd be hard pushed to find a bar this cool; relaxed and uniquely charming - especially one that does pizza so cheap ($3 on a weekday lunch, $4 at dinner Sunday to Thursday), and becomes one of Melbourne's coolest prime night spots later on.

Their very cool staff have a great knowledge of the wide array of top-quality alcohol sitting imperiously behind the bar and will help you feel right at home. With its comfortable eclecticism - of restaurant, bar, lounge - Lucky Coq will leave you wanting to move in. If only you could.
