Peter Coleman-Wright and Cheryl Barker are not only two of Australia's finest opera singers, they are a married couple. They spend their time between London and Sydney and are currently performing for Musica Viva Australia. Soprano Barker and baritone Coleman-Wright are joined by long-time family friend and celebrated Australian pianist Piers Lane for an unforgettable night of opera and classical music.
Barker and Coleman-Wright first performed together when in their teens. Barker went on to study at the VCA under Dame Joan Hammond and launched herself into an international career. Coleman-Wright is a favourite of both the English National Opera and Opera Australia. The versatile baritone has been acknowledged with both a Green Room and Helpmann Award and has performed widely throughout Europe, Australia and North America.
Piers Lane has performed in more than 40 countries, including five separate solo appearances at London's BBC Proms. He has played with all of the ABC and BBC Orchestra, presents a radio program on BBC Radio 3 and is constantly in demand as a chamber musician. This performance comprises of works from the Austro-German Romantic lieder repertoire and the world premiere of Richard Mill's Songlines of the Heart's Desires written especially for Barker, Coleman-Wright and Lane.
