The leading art fair and exposition of the Asia Pacific region takes place in Melbourne every two years and is a must for lovers and collectors of contemporary visual art. The 2008 Melbourne Art Fair takes over the historic Royal Exhibition Building in a whirlwind of colour and imagination.

The contemporary art fair features galleries from all states and territories of Australia and international galleries from New Zealand, Beijing, Dublin, Frankfurt, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Lucerne, New Delhi, Osaka and Seoul. With more than 80 galleries taking part, the fair is as exciting as ever with lectures, forums, guided tours and national and international programs presented across five days.

Alongside the gallery exhibitions are the project rooms which present the work of innovative and independent artists. Also on display is a large-scale work commissioned by the Melbourne Art Fair Foundation

The Melbourne Art Fair Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that works for the promotion and ethical representation of contemporary visual artists. The foundation provides major commissions for contemporary artists and works to increase public knowledge of contemporary visual art with free public lectures, forums and their biennial fair.
