Some ponds suffer a large algae problem that causes the owner to frequently clean their pond pump's inlet filter. A simple way to reduce how often you clean your filter is to place the pond pump about a brick level above the lowest point in the pond. This will lift the pump away from the sludge level within the pond.
NCA also offers a number of filtration and water purifier options that will overcome these problems. They include:
Biological Filters:
Two models available to suit Platypus P180 to P1800 Range.
The BF100-B is 300mm long x 120 x120mm and replaces the filter assembly for the P180 to P770 pond pumps.
The BF100-C is 400mm long x 160 x 160mm and replaces the filter assembly for the P1400 and P1800 pond pumps.
Self Cleaning Filter
Uflo is a self-cleaning strainer that uses part of the outlet of the pump to drive two cleaning arms that wash the debris off the inlet strainer. The Uflo is suitable for the Platypus P180 to P770 pumps and comes with adaptor pieces that enable it to be used with other brands of pump.
UV Purifier
UV Purifier is another unit that operates in-conjuctions with your pond pump to kill algae. Pond water passes through the UVC and is exposed to the ultra violet light, which targets algae and bacteria, achieving crystal clear water within 14 days. These units mount exterior to the pond and are used in-conjunction with biological filter.
Three models are available:
9 watt UV for ponds up to 5000 litres
18 watt UV for ponds up to 18000 litres
36 watt UV for ponds up to 36000 litres
Power cable length for all models is 5 metres.
