The need to manually add chlorine is time consuming, it's storage hazardous and is becoming increasingly expensive. The POOLPOWER salt chlorinator produces chlorine safely, at far less cost, automatically, and all while your enjoying the pool, not working on it. HOW IT WORKS

Upon installation, salt is dissolved into the pool water. Through an electrolytic process which occurs in the cell, the salt (sodium chloride) is split and chlorine is liberated. (CHLORINE IS THE WORLDS MOST TRUSTED SANITISER) Once the chlorine has carried out its job eliminating harmful bacteria and algae, salt is reformed. Topping up of salt is required about twice per year and only if water is lost through backwashing and or splashing out. Salt is not lost through evaporation. A small amount of ozone is also produced which oxidises contaminates in the pool water. All this is achieved at the cost of running the average household light bulb.
