Established in 1990 by Al and Linda Fencaros, Allinda Winery is situated at the foothills of The Great Dividing Range at the northern-most end of the Yarra Valley.

Being a small vineyard, it allows Al to use a modern trellis system which, although labour intensive, is widely regarded as one that ensures optimum fruit quality. This trellis system, known as the 'Scott Henry' system, is named after the Oregon aerospace engineer turned viticulturalist who first devised the system. The system ensures optimum sunlight penetration into the canopy, an important factor in ensuring that ripe fruit flavours develop in a cool climate.

Al graduated as a winemaker from Charles Sturt University and honed his practical winemaking skills working along side the winemakers at two local prestigious wineries. Whilst Al's winemaking philosophies are supported by a modern understanding of winemaking developed in 'new world' winemaking countries, Al often bases his winemaking on some 'old world' principles.
